HYDRO TEMP EWA System Features

Early Warning Alarm for Water Leak Detection & Environment Monitoring

-In facilities that are sensitive to moisture and temprature, it is critical to monitor environmental conditions. There are devasting damages that can be caused by pipes that sweat or leaking, drains that are clogged, water tanks that rupture due to over presurization and  extreme fluctuation in humidity and temperature levels. Because the possibility of problems like this are high and the damages and losses that are caused are so costly, businesses, industries and asset conscious entities turn to the Hydro-Temp Early Warning Alarm (EWA) System for protection and to secure their valuable assets like Uniterruptible Power Supply and UPS.
Hydro Temp water detection system was developed in 1971, to protect computer installations and their data storage facilities, the Hydro-Temp EWA System can be used wherever water and environmental conditions like temperature and humidity could cause damages to critical and valuable assets. The Hydro Temp EWA System consists of a solid state Control Unit, our unique liquid detector (WATER DETECTION TAPE) tape and other sensors that monitor and detect liquid leaks, water leaks, changes in temperature, humidity and liquid levels, continuously. Over the years users have reported exceptional reliability and minimal maintenance requirements for the Hydro Temp EWA System. Moreover, the unique design of the HYDRO TEMP WATER DETECTION System prevents false or nuisance alarms in the UPS room.

B-11 Liquid Detector Tape
The lineal leak detector tape (water detection tape) design allows encirclement of equipment or potential sources of leaks. A warning will sound when as few as 2 drops (adjustable) of water (aqueous liquid) comes in contact with the water detection tape. This is in stark contrast to spot detector systems that trigger the alarm if and when water hits the contact points. Early water detection and detection of leaks allows for corrective action to be implemented immediately, rather than after the flood has occurred. The water detection tape is glued or strapped to the surface to be protected (floor, pipes, etc.) avoiding migration and bridging. Bridging allows water to flow under the cable and thus, avoid detection. The low profile of the B-11 helps to prevent damage as opposed to the higher profile cable used in some systems which can be easily snagged, dragged and/or damaged.
Redundancy through multiple zoning. When the liquid detector tape or water detection tape is properly applied, potential sources of water leakage are completely surrounded. The many "zones" that are formed serve to confine the area of detection and provide added or redundant zones of protection. These small zones serve to pinpoint the location of the leak. Unlike cable detection systems that use the "unizone" method and are incapable of monitoring other zones when there is an active alarm, the EWA System provides multiple supervised protective loops. This allows for the ability to continue detection and warning, even when there is an active Alarm or Fault in other zones or sensors.

Hi-Lo Temperature

a12

TS-1 Temperature Sensor
The TS-1 provides accurate and reliable temperature measurement and will cause the control unit to annunciate an alarm when the temperature either rises or falls outside of preset limits. Thermistor sensors are thermally sensitive resistors that have well-defined resistance vs. temperature characteristics and are calibrated to +/-1%. If air circulation is normal, the TS-1 sensor will cover an area of 900 square feet.

Depth: 1.5" (38.1mm)

TH-1/3 Temperature/Humidity Sensor
Combination Temperature and Humidity Sensor consisting of the TS-1 and HS-3 sensors co-housed in the HS-3 housing assembly

Hi-Lo Humidity

a13

HS-3 Humidity Sensor
The HS-1 provides accurate and reliable humidity measurement when used in conjunction with the EPC-50/32 Control Unit. It will cause the control unit to annunciate an alarm when the humidity either rises or falls outside of preset (user programmable) limits. The HS-1 transmitter circuit converts the relative humidity measurement from an advanced macroresistive polymer sensor into an electronic signal that can be processed by the control unit. The signal is directly proportional to 0 100% RH. Although this sensor is factory calibrated to an accuracy of +/-3%, other sensors of 2% or 1% accuracy are also available.
