In case the power quality of primary source goes outside the specified parameters, the TwinSource rack mount static switch (STS) or rack mount transfer switch will automatically transfer the critical load to the secondary power source given the alternate source meets the power quality parameters required by the load. Rack mount static transfer switch will perform this transfer in less than quarter cycle and the maglatch rack mount transfer switch with perform the transfer in half (1/2) cycle. The rack mount transfer switch does this safely with no risk of cross connecting the power sources and dropping the critical load. The primary power source of the rack mount static transfer switch can be user selected by a selector button on the rack mount static switch or maglatch rack mount transfer switch or by remote access via the RS 485 port. Twinsource rack mount static transfer switch and rack mount transfer switch is programmed to transfer back to the primary power source once the power quality is restored. Again the retransfer will happen quickly and safely without arching or cross connecting the sources. The typical problem with APC transfer switch is arching during the transferring back to the primary source.
